Free Software for Dyslexia from your Library

Thanks to the former Powys Dyslexia Support Group, Powys Library Service are offering members of the public the opportunity to try out Touch-Type Read and Spell (TTRS), an online typing course that teaches keyboarding, develops reading and spelling skills, builds confidence, and motivates learners to succeed.

This software is designed for people with dyslexia, but it is useful for anyone who wants to learn to touch-type, read and spell. Because it takes a multi-sensory approach to tuition, TTRS is also suitable for people who struggle with physical impairments and specific learning difficulties.

The great thing about TTRS is that you can practice when, where, and as much as you want, as long as you have a computer with a keyboard. You can use your own device to access the site, or you can use your Library’s computers, and because TTRS is accessible through a website, there is no need for special apps.

To allow you access to TTRS for free, we can provide you with a link and your own account access the website, and you can use the software for up to 12 weeks.
